And in Nigeria, a Muslim cleric was arrested for playing a role in sparking the murders of polio workers. The polio vaccine is often seen as a Western infidel conspiracy to sterilize Muslim children.
This is why the best word for the people who did this is “Muslim,” because they were motivated and guided by Islamic beliefs and attendant assumptions to kill these polio workers.

Lahore: A polio vaccination crew was shot at by unidentified terrorists on Friday in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. Due to this, 4 policemen posted in the security of the polio team were killed and two were injured.
Officials said the incident took place in the Gul Iman area of Tank district. A police van carrying a door-to-door polio immunisation team was attacked by the assailants.
In many areas of Pakistan, people are against polio vaccination. They believe that polio drops cause infertility in people. Although the government has been trying to explain to people that this campaign is for their own safety.
