A tragic incident has happed in Nigeria as reports reaching NaijaOnPoint.com indicate that a three-story building collapsed at Ibadan Street in Ebute-Metta, trapping several of the structure’s tenants beneath the wreckage.
“BUILDING COLLAPSE: An alert of a collapse of a three-storey building by 32 Ibadan Street, Ebute Meta was received at 21:48 hours, Sunday with Lagos Fire Service, LASBCA, LASAMBUS and others are already at the scene. Search and Rescue ongoing, ” Jubril Gawat tweeted.
Meanwhile, we are yet to ascertain the cause of the unfortunate incident it is still unknown.
Amstel2011, another Twitter user, has also criticized the Lagos state government’s emergency hotline for being ineffective.
“What is the whole essence of having an emergency numbers in lagos that goes on holiday
112 and 767. It’s a shame, that in a matter of emergency help could not be reached. There is a building collapse in Ebute Meta tonight and we couldn’t get through to the emergency,” he wrote.
