2Baba’s wife Natasha drops his surname, raises questions about their marriage

Edo lawmaker, Natasha Osawaru has fuelled speculation about a possible separation from Nigerian music star 2Baba after appearing in a video in which she used her maiden name instead of the singer’s surname.

In the video shared online, Natasha was seen addressing members of the Edo State House of Assembly as Natasha Irobosa Osawaru, rather than Natasha Osawaru Idibia, the name she had previously used.

Her decision to revert to her maiden name has drawn attention amid months of reported tension surrounding her relationship with the singer. However, neither Natasha nor 2Baba was quoted in the report as officially announcing a separation.

Natasha and 2Baba’s relationship under scrutiny

The couple’s relationship has attracted public attention since they went public in 2025. Natasha was notably absent from 2Baba’s 51st birthday celebration in September, where the singer reportedly appeared with four of his children and his mother.

In August, the pair were also reported to have had a disagreement at a club in Abuja. An eyewitness claimed Natasha arrived with her entourage after learning that 2Baba was at the venue, although the singer reportedly calmed the situation.

The singer later appealed to Nigerians to forgive him and his family during a concert in December, according to the report.

Their marriage and recent controversies

2Baba and Natasha traditionally married in a private ceremony on July 25, 2025, attended by close family members, including the singer’s parents. The couple reportedly welcomed their first child in November that year, but kept the baby’s gender private.

Their relationship has also faced public scrutiny following reports of an altercation in the UK last year and a heated exchange during a livestream.

Natasha’s use of her maiden name has now added to the speculation surrounding their marriage, although the latest video alone does not confirm that the couple have separated.
