Why Nollywood actors are embracing YouTube movies
For years, cinema releases and productions distributed through major streaming platforms have attracted considerable attention in Nollywood, with some actors viewing them as more prestigious career opportunities.
However, YouTube has increasingly provided filmmakers with another avenue to distribute their work, reach audiences and generate revenue.
Egbuson, who has featured in several YouTube productions, is among the Nollywood stars exploring opportunities on the platform.
His admission highlights how perceptions within the entertainment industry have evolved as filmmakers seek different ways to reach viewers and sustain their careers.
Timini’s remark sparks conversation about the industry
The actor’s comment also draws attention to the financial realities of working in the film industry, where opportunities can come from platforms that were previously overlooked.
YouTube’s accessibility and global reach have made it an important distribution channel for content creators and filmmakers seeking to connect with audiences beyond traditional cinema.
Although Egbuson did not provide further details about his post, his remark reflects his changed perspective on a platform he once underestimated.
