2027: “Voting for Peter Obi is about saving your future, you’re not doing him a favour” – Man tells Nigerians

A Nigerian man has urged citizens to take responsibility for their choices ahead of the 2027 general elections, stressing that voting for or against NDC presidential candidate Peter Obi would ultimately affect their own future.

In a video shared on X (formerly Twitter), he argued that Nigerians should not see supporting Obi as doing him a favour, but as a decision that could determine their lives.

He pointed to the rising cost of living and insecurity, insisting that Obi would not personally bear the consequences of whatever political choices Nigerians make.

In his words, he said:

“Whether you vote for Peter Obi or not, you’re not doing Peter Obi a favour. You’re only deciding your future. The choice is yours, so are the consequences. 

Peter Obi is only begging you to save your life, save yourself, and save your future, and save your dignity. You are the one buying petrol. You are the one buying gas. You are the one that the bandits are nabbing. You are the one, not Peter Obi.”

The man also praised Obi’s personal lifestyle, describing him as one of the most upright politicians in Nigeria. He urged Nigerians not to dismiss him because of his calm personality.

He further criticised tribalism in Nigerian politics and defended Obi against claims that his personality makes him too weak for politics.

“The upright man in Nigerian political space today is Peter Obi. He doesn’t need you to come and sell him as a market, because Peter Obi is a good market. He doesn’t need anyone to do adverts for him. Peter Obi can never be a thug,” he added.

His comments have generated discussions online as Nigerians debate Obi’s political style and prospects ahead of the 2027 election.
