Former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Ekiti State, Dr Oluwole Olumayokun Oluyede, has announced plans to launch a grassroots mobilisation platform aimed at supporting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda ahead of the 2027 general election.
The platform, to be known as the Oluyede Progressive Alliance for Renewed Hope Agenda (OPARHA), is expected to establish structures across the 16 local government areas and 177 political wards in Ekiti State.
Oluyede disclosed this following a meeting with President Tinubu at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, where he said he presented a strategic document titled, “Strategic Grassroots Mobilisation for the Renewed Hope Agenda.”
According to him, the document contains proposals for deepening grassroots engagement and mobilising support for the President’s policies and programmes across Ekiti State.
Oluyede said the initiative was conceived before the June 20, 2026 governorship election as part of his broader vision for grassroots development and citizen engagement in the state.
He explained that although the governorship election had been concluded, he decided to deploy the initiative towards supporting national development and the Renewed Hope Agenda.
“Our focus must now shift to the next national assignment. It is time for all lovers of Ekiti and Nigeria to unite in support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
“I strongly believe Ekiti State has the capacity to deliver an overwhelming mandate for Mr President in 2027 through strategic grassroots mobilisation and collective commitment,” he said.
He said OPARHA would focus on community town hall meetings, stakeholder consultations, public enlightenment campaigns, youth and women mobilisation, volunteer development, media communication, digital engagement, policy advocacy and feedback mechanisms.
The platform, operating under the theme, “Mobilising Grassroots Support for National Development,” will also promote what Oluyede described as constructive civic engagement and greater understanding of government policies and programmes.
Oluyede, who contested the 2026 Ekiti governorship election on the platform of the PDP, expressed appreciation to the party’s leadership, elders, executives, candidates, members and supporters for their support during the election.
He also thanked residents of the state who supported his candidacy, saying their confidence and sacrifices would remain a motivation for his continued commitment to public service and the development of Ekiti.
He urged his supporters to remain peaceful and law-abiding, saying the conclusion of the governorship election should not end the collective effort to build a better Ekiti.
According to him, politics should serve as a platform for promoting development, unity and the common good rather than permanently dividing the people.
He disclosed that consultations would commence with leaders and stakeholders across political parties, including the PDP, All Progressives Congress (APC), Labour Party, African Democratic Congress (ADC) and Social Democratic Party (SDP).
He said the consultations would also involve traditional rulers, community leaders, youth and women groups, professional associations, artisans, market leaders, farmers, civil society organisations and other groups across the state.
“This movement is open to every well-meaning son and daughter of Ekiti State who believes in progress, unity and national development.
“Our collective responsibility now is to work together beyond political affiliations in the interest of our state and our country,” he said.
Oluyede said the official launch of OPARHA would feature the presentation of its strategic blueprint, organisational framework and implementation roadmap, as well as the inauguration of coordinators for the state, local government areas and wards.
He said the platform would also unveil its grassroots engagement programme, with emphasis on policy communication, community participation, youth and women empowerment, volunteer mobilisation and public engagement.
Oluyede said his commitment remained focused on the peace, unity and development of Ekiti State, adding that the outcome of an election should not prevent stakeholders from working together for the benefit of the people.
“Leadership is not defined by winning an election alone; it is defined by the willingness to continue serving the people regardless of the circumstances.
“My commitment to Ekiti State and Nigeria remains unwavering. Together, we can build a stronger, more united and more prosperous future under the Renewed Hope Agenda,” he said.
