The increase in Zenith Bank’s trading activity came during a period of weakness in the broader equities market.
The NGX All-Share Index declined from 245,911.13 points on October 20 to 244,956.94 points on October 22, representing a two-day decline of approximately 0.39 percent.

Overall market trading volume increased from 348.75 million shares on October 20 to 360.75 million shares on October 22, while transaction value declined 21.5 percent from N25.88 billion to N20.32 billion.
Zenith Bank therefore recorded a sharp increase in turnover despite the decline in overall market transaction value, with its share of total NGX trading value rising as investors concentrated activity in the banking stock.
