Zenith Bank Plc has announced the appointment of Dr. Abdulazeez Rislana Kanya as an Independent Non-Executive Director of the bank, effective September 24, 2025.
His appointment has been confirmed by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
Dr. Abdulazeez holds a B.Sc. in Computing and Information Systems (2008) and a Ph.D. in Information and Communications Technologies for Development (ICT4D) from the University of Portsmouth, United Kingdom.
He also earned an MBA from the University of Wales at Thames Business School, Singapore, in 2010.
He brings extensive experience in information systems, digital transformation, project management, business process re-engineering, and ICT for development.
He has served in various academic and professional capacities, including Deputy Vice-Chancellor for IT, Research and Innovation at Baze University, Abuja, between 2017 and 2024.
Dr. Abdulazeez is also a Chartered Member of the British Computer Society and holds memberships in several professional bodies, including the Nigeria Computer Society, Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), and Nigeria Institute of Management.
In the same notice, Zenith Bank confirmed the retirement of Mr. Henry Oroh as an Executive Director of the bank following the expiration of his tenure.
The retirement takes effect from September 30, 2025, and was approved by the Board of Directors at its meeting held on September 22, 2025.
The Board commended Mr. Oroh for his contributions and wished him success in his future endeavours.
