Nigerian music veteran, Charles Oputa also known as Charly Boy, has said there is a new awakening and as such youths will no longer tolerate or respect ‘yeye elders’.
Taking to his official Twitter, he sent a message in response to a viral interview by Soyinka where he fumed about the fact that youths insult him over his political views.
“I didn’t read all these [insults], but of course, some links were sent to me, especially when facts were ‘being manufactured’.
“When I read these things, I was disgusted. There’s no other word for it. I really was disgusted and I know that it was orchestrated.
“I know that there is a relay mechanism, which is triggered into action by those who control what we call the trolls of the Internet, and so my disgust and contempt,” Soyinka had said.
Charly Boy accused older citizens of mortgaging the future of Nigerian youths, saying that they had taken so much from the country, yet all they gave back was hopelessness, frustration and poverty.
The media personality said the cup of the elders is full and people will no longer keep quiet if older citizens see black and call it white.
He wrote; “All these Yeye Elders wey dey Nigeria, una cup true true don full. All those Elders wey dey see black call am white we know who dey sponsor una. If you like make grey hair full ur head and ur nyash, Nigerian progressive Youths will no longer be served nonsense for breakfast.
Wise Nigerian Youths will no longer tolerate or respect any elder that doesn’t care about the future of young people in dis country.
You have mortgaged the youths future in dis country, taken so much and all you gave back was hopelessness, frustration and poverty.
Enough of ur lies, deceit and incompetence. Can the Nigerian Youths take any more? We shall soon find out. Yesooo, na our culture to respect wise elders, not yeye silly sen!le old cultists, hypocrites and Ass lickers who only care about themselves. God punish you all. Nonsense Dia fathers.”
