Nollywood actress Adunni Ade has announced the death of her mother, revealing that she passed away after a long battle with illness.

The Yoruba actress shared the sad news on her Instagram page on Monday, October 19, 2026, where she paid tribute to her late mother and prayed for Allah to grant her eternal rest.

In her emotional message, Adunni Ade expressed her pain over the loss while asking Allah to forgive her mother’s shortcomings and grant her a place in Jannah.
She also revealed that her mother is survived by her children, grandchildren, sisters and other loved ones who will continue to cherish her memory.
The actress added that details of the funeral arrangements would be announced in due course.
Sharing the announcement, she wrote:
“lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un.
Indeed, to Allah we belong, and to Him we shall return.
With a heavy heart and submission to the will of Almighty Allah, I announce the passing of my beloved mother, who returned to her Creator after a long battle with illness.
She leaves behind her children, grandchildren, sisters and loved ones, who will forever hold her memory close.
Ya Allah, forgive her shortcomings, have mercy upon her, make her grave spacious and filled with light, and grant her Al-Jannah Firdaus. Grant us sabr and strength as we navigate this painful loss. Ameen.
