Yobe Police Arrest Two Suspects Over Separate Homicides in Damaturu

DAMATURU — The Yobe State Police Command has arrested two individuals in connection with separate homicide cases in Damaturu, authorities confirmed on Wednesday.

The command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Dungus Abdulkarim, stated that the first incident occurred on April 7, 2026, in the Bindigari area. Preliminary investigations revealed that 24-year-old Musa Mohammed, also known as “Aljan,” allegedly attacked 33-year-old Adamu Suleiman Saidu with an axe following a misunderstanding reportedly linked to substance abuse. In a second incident, police responded to a violent fight between 20-year-old Al’amin Abdullahi Musa and 21-year-old Ibrahim Abdullahi, both from Abari. The dispute, reportedly over a borrowed T-shirt, escalated into a physical altercation, leaving Ibrahim Abdullahi unconscious. He was rushed to the Specialist Hospital, Damaturu, where he was pronounced dead. Abdullahi Musa has been arrested, and investigations are ongoing.

SP Abdulkarim assured that both suspects would face prosecution following the conclusion of investigations.
