Screenshots claiming that Youth Economic Intervention and De-Radicalisation Programme (YEIDEP) beneficiaries have received ₦500,000 grants should not be treated as proof of payment.
The programme has not announced grant disbursement. YEIDEP warned applicants against false payment claims and fraudsters. In April 2026, it disowned a fake advert offering scholarships and grants through Fidelity Bank.
A screenshot showing a Keystone Bank credit of ₦500,000 with the description “FGN/yeidep” has circulated online. However, the image is not a verified payment. Do not treat it as confirmation or pay facilitators.
Meanwhile, Fidelity Bank SMS alerts reportedly received by applicants were October interest and WTax notifications, not grant credits. These bank messages may be genuine, but they do not mean that YEIDEP payments have started.
Check recognised channels, including the Federal Ministry of Youth Development, for official updates. Do not rely on forwarded messages, screenshots or unofficial accounts. Never disclose your PIN, password or OTP, or pay fees to “unlock” a grant.
What beneficiaries should know
Wait for an official disbursement announcement before concluding that payments have begun. Treat unsolicited claims cautiously and report suspected fraud to your bank.
