Unilever Nigeria Plc recorded a sharp decline on the Nigerian Exchange on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, as its share price fell by N9.40 to close at N100.50.
The consumer goods company’s stock declined 8.55 percent during the trading session, falling from its previous closing price of N109.90.
The decline meant that investors holding Unilever Nigeria shares saw N9.40 erased from the market price of each share during Tuesday’s session.
Unilever Nigeria consequently ranked among the biggest ordinary equity decliners on the Nigerian Exchange for the day.
The stock opened the session with a reference price of N109.90 before selling pressure pushed it down to N100.50 at the close of trading.
The movement represented a significant single-session reversal for the stock, bringing its market price closer to the N100 level.
Unilever Nigeria’s decline also occurred during a generally weaker session for Nigerian equities.
The NGX All-Share Index fell 0.29 percent to 251,913.20 points, while equity market capitalisation declined from N163.95 trillion to N163.53 trillion.
Sovereign Trust Insurance declined 9.92 percent to N2.36, while Neimeth International Pharmaceuticals fell 6.02 percent to N7.80.
University Press Plc also declined 6 percent to N4.70.
For Unilever Nigeria, however, the size of the movement in naira terms stood out, with the stock shedding N9.40 per share in a single trading session to settle at N100.50.
