The University of Benin Alumni Association of North America (UBAANA) is celebrating its 20th Anniversary Reunion with a four-day event in Boston, Massachusetts, bringing together alumni from across North America and beyond.
The reunion, themed “Honouring Our Past, Celebrating Our Present and Building Our Future,” kicked off on Thursday, July 23, and runs through Sunday, July 26, 2026, at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Boston North Shore, 50 Ferncroft Road, Danvers, Massachusetts.
The event, featuring a series of activities such as the 20th anniversary celebration, alongside the Distinguished Alumni Awards and Gala Dinner, is aimed at celebrating the association’s achievements over the past two decades while strengthening connections among alumni and charting a course for the future.
The programme will also include leadership roundtables and diaspora conversations, providing a platform for meaningful discussions on leadership, community development, and the role of alumni in advancing education and national development.
Attendees will also have opportunities to connect through networking sessions, enjoy a Boston Harbour boat cruise, embark on a historic city tour, and participate in a family picnic, offering a blend of professional engagement and social activities.
The reunion will feature distinguished keynote speakers, including Chief (Dr.) Charles Uwensuji-Edosomwan, SAN, the first Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), and Professor Michael Fonkem, Ph.D., Traditional Ruler of the Atoabehied Kingdom, who are expected to deliver insightful addresses on leadership, service, and the future of the African diaspora.
Other keynote personalities to grace the event include Vice Chancellor, Prof Edoba B Omoregie SAN, Director of Advancement, Prof Ehragbe, Emmanuel Oriazuwa Esq, and Chief (Dr) Richard Oma Ahonaruogho.
Organisers say the reunion reflects UBAANA’s commitment to fostering lifelong relationships among alumni while promoting excellence, collaboration, and sustainable development within the University of Benin community.
