New details suggest Tori Spelling and Jennie Garth’s decades-long friendship may have deteriorated after Spelling’s recent departure from their “90210MG” rewatch podcast. According to sources, the former “Beverly Hills, 90210” co-stars have grown increasingly distant in recent months.

Some insiders now believe their once-close bond is effectively over. The reported fallout comes just days after Spelling announced she was stepping away from the podcast she had co-hosted with Garth since 2020.

One source close to the pair claimed, “Jennie is not a friend to Tori. Tori introduced her to every connection she has, and then she bailed on Tori and told her she was bad for her brand because of all the negative press about her.” The same source also alleged to TMZ that:

“Jennie doesn’t ever check on Tori when she’s in the hospital, and has always been a pretty rude person. The relationship has taken its course.”

Spelling’s departure from “90210MG” left many listeners surprised as the podcast still had two seasons of “Beverly Hills, 90210” to cover. The actress announced on Instagram Live that she would be taking a break for other things but urged her fans to keep supporting the show as Garth continued without her.

The sudden departure also led to a lot of speculation on the internet, as some fans were wondering why the announcement took place outside the podcast, rather than in one that the two guys co-hosted. Some people questioned why this shift was made and if there was more to it than just “new projects.

Those questions only intensified after reports surfaced suggesting the friendship between the longtime co-stars had become strained, even though neither Spelling nor Garth publicly described the departure as the result of a falling out. The Blast reported that Spelling chose to leave the podcast to pursue other opportunities.

While reports suggested the friendship had reached a breaking point, Garth publicly offered a much warmer perspective on the situation during the July 31 episode of “90210MG.”

“We started this together. I’m sad about that, if I’m being honest,” Garth admitted. Still, she made it clear there was no bitterness over the decision, adding, “I’m really happy for her” and “I’m excited for her to choose herself.”

The podcast’s producer, Amy Sugarman, also emphasized that the decision belonged entirely to Spelling, explaining that the actress informed the team about two weeks earlier that she would not continue with the podcast. Sugarman added that everyone wanted Spelling to be happy as she pursued new opportunities, according to E! News.

Long before stepping away from the “90210MG” podcast, Spelling had reflected on the close friendships that shaped the final years of “Beverly Hills, 90210.”

One memory that stood out involved helping expand the show’s cast by advocating for Lindsay Price, who joined the series as Janet Sosna during season eight. Speaking on the podcast, Spelling recalled that Price was originally brought in as a guest star but quickly became a favorite among the cast.

The actress remembered approaching her father, legendary producer Aaron Spelling, alongside Garth during a wrap party to suggest making Price a series regular, believing the newcomer had become an important part of the show’s chemistry, per PEOPLE. The decision ultimately paid off, with Price remaining on the series through its finale in 2000.

While the focus is now on Spelling’s friendship with Garth, the actress has previously been open about her own personal troubles even when she was a star of “Beverly Hills, 90210.”

Looking back on a social media post she shared in 2019, the actress admitted she never felt she was “good enough,” despite portraying the popular Donna Martin on one of television’s biggest shows. She explained that while she appeared confident whenever the cameras were rolling, she struggled with insecurity in her personal life.

Spelling later said she wished she had been kinder to her younger self and hoped her experience would encourage other young people, including her daughters, to embrace who they are instead of trying to live up to other people’s expectations.

As both actresses continue moving in different directions following the end of their podcast partnership, could Tori Spelling and Jennie Garth eventually reunite for another chapter celebrating the legacy they built together?
