African Action Congress (AAC) presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore has urged residents of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) to participate in a planned protest against President Bola Tinubu’s administration in Abuja.
Sowore announced that the ‘Tinubu Must Go’ rally would commence on Tuesday, calling on supporters to mobilise friends, relatives and other residents to join the demonstration.
The activist made the call on Monday while addressing supporters at the Federal High Court in Abuja, following a hearing in the case instituted against him by the Department of State Services (DSS), Naija News reports.
The DSS filed the suit over Sowore’s alleged description of President Tinubu as a criminal.
Addressing the gathering, Sowore expressed confidence that the current administration would eventually leave office, insisting that Nigerians were prepared to push for political change.
He urged residents to turn out for the planned rally, adding that the demonstration would move beyond the court premises into other parts of the capital.
“We have a little bit of time left before Tinubu regime becomes a thing of the past. This affliction shall never happen to us the second time,” he said.
Sowore further called on supporters to spread the word and encourage more residents to participate in the protest.

“Invite your brothers and friends. Everybody in Abuja, come out tomorrow. We want to do this revolution once and for all,” he added.
The former presidential candidate also referenced what he described as ongoing revolutions in France, Spain and other countries, questioning why Nigeria could not experience a similar movement.
He maintained that the time had come for Nigerians to demand change, predicting that the level of mobilisation would surprise those in government.
“Our own time has come and we are ready for them, they will soon be shocked that we are more ready than they are,” Sowore said.
The planned demonstration comes amid Sowore’s ongoing legal dispute with the DSS over his remarks about the President.
