Vigilante Operatives Nab Two Suspected Truck Robbers in Kogi

Operatives of the Kogi State Vigilante Service (KSVS) have arrested two suspected members of a criminal syndicate accused of robbing heavy-duty trucks and construction firms of materials.

The arrest was effected by the Zariagi Command of the Service.

In a statement on Monday in Lokoja, spokesman of the KSVS, Idris S. Idris, identified the suspects as Idris Muhammed (38) and Musa Muktar (33).

He said the suspects were arrested around 6:00 a.m. on Friday, October 23, 2026, following two weeks of intelligence gathering.

According to him, other members of the gang escaped with bullet wounds after engaging operatives in a gun duel while attempting to evacuate stolen items with a tricycle.

“The duo engaged the operatives in a gun duel while evacuating their loot with a tricycle. They have since confessed to the crime,” Idris said.

Reacting, the Comptroller-General of the KSVS, Alhaji Ibrahim Usman Anataku, called on residents to report anyone seen with suspected bullet wounds to the nearest security formation.

He solicited timely and actionable intelligence from the public, assuring that the identity of informants would be protected.

Anataku commended Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for his sustained support to the Service and praised his operatives for their vigilance.
