Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State has taken his re-election campaign to Ajalli in Orumba North and Umunze in Orumba South Local Government Areas, declaring that the region remains his home and political base.
Addressing supporters on Thursday, Soludo highlighted his administration’s achievements in infrastructure, healthcare, and education while outlining plans for accelerated development if re-elected in the November 8 governorship poll.
The governor urged voters to exercise caution during the election to avoid invalid votes, describing his re-election bid as “a divine project and a mass movement.”
“This visit is a homecoming for me,” Soludo said. “The overwhelming support I received from this area four years ago remains unforgettable. I urge you to replicate that support in the coming election. Soludo will win with your votes.”
He reaffirmed his confidence in the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), saying, “Everyone is saying we are the consensus candidate in Anambra. Our commitment to improving the lives of our people remains unwavering.”
Soludo emphasized that his administration had initiated multiple projects in Orumba, including road construction, school rehabilitation, and healthcare improvements. He pledged to “accelerate development action across the state” in the next four years if given another mandate.
“In the next four years, we will intentionally build a society where everyone has the opportunity to excel. I promise to keep working for you,” he added.
The campaign rally drew prominent figures including former Deputy Governor Chief Emeka Sibudu, Commissioner for Agriculture Dr. Foster Ihejiofor, Chief of Staff Ernest Ezeajughi, and the member representing Orumba North and South Federal Constituency, Princess Chinwe Nnabuife.
Others in attendance were Lady Ifeoma Ekwueme, wife of former Vice President Alex Ekwueme; Mrs. Amaka Iruegbu; and Chief Ben Nwankwo.
The speakers reaffirmed their support for Soludo, maintaining that APGA remains the dominant political force in the region. They stressed that anyone advancing the Igbo cause would continue to enjoy the support of the people.
In a strong show of solidarity, Orumba North donated ₦75 million, while Orumba South contributed ₦150 million to the governor’s campaign fund.
