Nigerian politician and businessman, Senator Ned Nwoko, has compared monogamy to “standing on one leg,” while defending his polygamous lifestyle amid ongoing marital issues with his actress wife, Regina Daniels.
Speaking during an interview with Seun Okinbaloye on Channels Television on Sunday night, the lawmaker expressed pity for men who choose to have only one wife.
“Just imagine telling you to stand on one leg; you know how difficult it is,” Nwoko said. “But it’s much more balanced to stand on two, three, or four. I feel sorry for those with one wife. I don’t have any regrets, and I would do the same thing again.”
Nwoko, who is currently in the spotlight over a reported marital crisis with Regina Daniels—his fourth wife—made the comment while defending his belief in polygamy as a cultural and personal choice.
The couple’s relationship has recently been marred by controversy after a viral video surfaced in which Regina Daniels accused the senator of domestic violence.
In a swift response, Nwoko denied the allegation, accusing the actress of substance abuse instead.
However, tensions appeared to escalate further on Sunday evening when Regina shared a photo of herself standing on the balcony of what appeared to be a newly acquired home, fueling speculation that she may have moved out of her marital residence.
The actress captioned the post, “I needed a roof over my head,” sparking widespread discussions and reports that the property is located in Lagos State.
