Renewed Hope: Tinubu Approves Rice Distribution Nationwide

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has directed the Renewed Hope Ambassadors to begin the distribution of rice across all states of the federation to support Nigerians observing Ramadan and Lent.

In a statement released on Saturday, the initiative was described as a relief effort aimed at supporting families during the ongoing fasting periods observed by Muslims and Christians across the country. The president said the intervention reflects the spirit of compassion, charity, and solidarity associated with the two sacred seasons.

Under the directive, the Renewed Hope Ambassadors will mobilise their nationwide grassroots network to coordinate the distribution through state, local government and ward structures to ensure the food support reaches families across the federation.

Tinubu noted that a similar intervention was carried out during the last Christmas celebrations when rice was distributed nationwide, adding that the continuation of the programme demonstrates his administration’s commitment to supporting citizens during important religious and cultural periods.

Commenting on the initiative, Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma, who serves as Director-General of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, said the programme reflects the president’s commitment to strengthening national unity and encouraging compassion, generosity and community support among Nigerians.
