Operatives of the Ogun State Police Command have raided a suspected illegal ‘baby factory’ in Abaren Village, Mowe, rescuing six victims and arresting six suspects.
The raid, carried out on Monday, August 24, followed sustained intelligence on human trafficking and unlawful adoption activities in the area.
According to the Command, the victims rescued include two pregnant women in their 7th and 8th months of pregnancy, and four children.
Six suspects were arrested during the operation — three men, two women and a nurse.
However, a newborn baby delivered on August 20, 2026, remains unaccounted for. Police said efforts are ongoing to locate the child.
The case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, SCID, Abeokuta for further investigation and prosecution.
The Commissioner of Police, Ogun State, CP Bode Ojajuni, commended the swift action of the Mowe Division.
