Veteran Nollywood actress Patience Ozokwor has explained why she missed the burial of veteran actor Olu Jacobs.
TheNewsGuru reports that Jacobs, one of Nigeria’s most respected actors, was buried in the presence of family, friends, colleagues, and other notable personalities who gathered to honour his life and legacy.
Ozokwor, who is currently in Ghana, disclosed that she was heartbroken that contractual obligations prevented her from returning to Nigeria for the funeral.
In a message shared on her Instagram page on Friday, the actress said she would have given anything to be present to pay her final respects to the late actor.
“It hurts my heart that I am not physically present in Nigeria today to pay my last respects to the great legend, Olu Jacobs,” she wrote.
“I would give anything to be there right now, but contractual obligations will not allow me to. My heart and thoughts are with you all.”
Ozokwor also prayed for a peaceful funeral and hoped Jacobs’ remarkable legacy would live on.
She concluded her tribute by bidding farewell to the veteran actor, writing, “Rest well, great legend. Your legacy will forever remain. Go well, great legend. Ga nke Oma. Until we meet to part no more.”
