The National President of the University of Cross River State (UNICROSS) Alumni Association, Dr Peter Iyali, has congratulated Governor Bassey Otu, Dr Beta Edu and Minister of State for Industry, Senator John Owan Enoh, on their appointments to key positions in the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council.
Otu was appointed South-South Coordinator of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, with responsibility for coordinating the party’s presidential campaign activities across the six states in the geopolitical zone.
Iyali described the appointment as significant, given the political importance of the South-South region, and urged Otu to effectively coordinate the party’s structures ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Edu was appointed Director of Women Mobilisation, a role that will place her at the centre of efforts to mobilise women voters for the APC presidential campaign.
Iyali said Edu’s previous service as a federal minister would provide useful experience for her new responsibility.
He also congratulated Enoh on his appointment as head of the Manufacturing and MSME Sector Mobilisation Directorate of the campaign council.
Iyali recalled that Enoh was the first serving senator from Cross River State to defect from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the APC, saying his move contributed to strengthening the party’s structure in the state.
He said Enoh’s experience as Minister of State for Industry would also be useful in mobilising businesses and entrepreneurs for the campaign.
Iyali said the appointments had further increased the number of Cross River indigenes occupying strategic positions in the APC’s preparations for the 2027 presidential election.
He urged the three appointees to use their positions to strengthen the party’s mobilisation and campaign organisation across the country.
