All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in the August 15, 2026 Osun State governorship election, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, has congratulated Governor Ademola Adeleke on his victory at the poll, saying the outcome of the election was not the end of the road for the party.
Oyebamiji, who spoke in Osogbo on Saturday while addressing APC leaders, members and supporters, however, charged party members to immediately commence mobilisation for the 2027 general elections.
He urged the members to close ranks, strengthen the party’s structures and prepare for what he described as another crucial electoral battle in 2027.

The APC candidate specifically called for massive mobilisation for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, as well as other APC candidates contesting elective positions in Osun State.
While congratulating Adeleke on his victory as declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Oyebamiji urged APC members to remain committed to democratic principles and not allow the outcome of the governorship election to dampen their morale.
According to him, the immediate task before the APC is to consolidate its structures, deepen its grassroots presence and foster greater unity among the various tendencies within the party ahead of the 2027 elections.
Oyebamiji recalled that following his emergence as the APC governorship candidate in December 2025, different tendencies within the party put aside their differences and worked towards a common objective.
He said the campaign subsequently traversed different parts of the state, where the party engaged civil servants, retirees, artisans, students, youths, entrepreneurs, women, professionals, sporting groups, persons living with disabilities and religious organisations.
He commended APC members and supporters for their resilience, loyalty and commitment throughout the electioneering period, saying their efforts had further strengthened the party despite the outcome of the poll.
Oyebamiji also expressed appreciation to President Tinubu for his support before, during and after the election, while commending former Governor Bisi Akande for his counsel and support to the party.
He similarly acknowledged the contributions of the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy and former Osun State Governor, Adegboyega Oyetola, towards repositioning the APC in the state.
The APC candidate, however, expressed concern over reported cases of violence before, during and after the election, urging relevant security agencies to investigate the incidents and ensure that anyone found culpable was brought to justice.
He particularly recalled the killings of former Irewole Local Government Chairman, Hon. Remi Abass; APC Chairman in Atakumosa Local Government, Chief Gbenga Ogbara; Dele Ayegbo, nephew of the Director-General of the APC Governorship Campaign Council, Hon. Wole Oke, as well as other alleged victims of political violence.
While urging APC members to remain calm, Oyebamiji said the party would continue to pursue justice and fairness through lawful and constitutional means, particularly on issues relating to the electoral process.
He also appealed to Governor Adeleke, as the state’s Chief Security Officer, to protect the lives and property of all residents irrespective of their political affiliations.
Oyebamiji condemned harassment, intimidation and attacks on APC members, supporters and their businesses, describing such acts as inimical to peace, development and investment in the state.
He said the APC must now focus on rebuilding, reconciliation and mobilisation, stressing that the party’s vision of a greater Osun remained achievable through unity, competent leadership and equitable distribution of resources.
The APC candidate therefore called on party leaders across the state to return to their respective wards and local government areas, strengthen the party’s structures and commence early mobilisation for the 2027 elections.
He expressed optimism that a united and better-organised APC would emerge stronger and secure victories for President Tinubu and other party candidates in Osun State in the next general elections.
