OPay users can check whether they have been selected for the Federal Government’s ₦50,000 National Emergency Relief and Stabilisation Intervention (NERSI).
A recipient’s SMS says the government selected them to receive ₦50,000 to help with living costs. The message calls the payment free and directs recipients to dial *955*20# or log in to OPay to accept.
Users not selected may receive: “Thanks for your interest. You have not been selected for this relief payment at this time.”
OPay was not among platforms initially listed alongside Wema Bank, MoMo PSB and NairaGram. The SMS alerts suggest OPay is now processing NERSI payments, though this is not confirmed for every customer.
Recipients should use official OPay channels and never share their PIN, password or OTP.
How to accept
Dial *955*20# to check eligibility and follow the prompts to accept payment. Alternatively, log in to OPay and check for the relief notification to accept. The service is available to selected customers.
