NSCDC Promotes, Decorates 265 Officers in Kano

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Kano State Command, has decorated 265 officers and personnel with their new ranks following promotions approved by the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board.

The decoration ceremony was held at the command’s headquarters in Kano and was presided over by the State Commandant, Mohammed Hassan Agalama, according to a statement issued on Friday by the command’s Public Relations Officer, Ibrahim Idris Abdullahi.

Congratulating the newly promoted officers, Agalama described the elevation as a recognition of their dedication, discipline and commitment to duty, urging them to see their new ranks as a call to greater responsibility and improved service delivery.

“Your elevation is in recognition of your dedication, discipline, selfless service and commitment to duty,” the commandant was quoted as saying.

He charged the officers to continue to uphold the core values of the Corps, including integrity, patriotism, loyalty, professionalism and respect for constituted authority, while carrying out their responsibilities.

Agalama also warned against acts of indiscipline and unprofessional conduct, stressing that the command would not tolerate any behaviour capable of bringing the Corps into disrepute.

He emphasised that professionalism, teamwork and strict adherence to operational guidelines were essential to achieving the Corps’ mandate of protecting critical national assets and ensuring public safety across Kano State.

The ceremony was attended by dignitaries, including a member of the House of Representatives representing Wudil/Garko Federal Constituency, Abdulhakim Kamilu Ado, senior officers of the command, representatives of sister security agencies, as well as family members and well-wishers.
