A Nigerian lady has warned people against publicly sharing their achievements, claiming that social media and even church can have spiritual consequences.
In a video shared on TikTok by a user identified as @omiauraspiritual, she recalled how she once posted about a sale involving more than 6,000 orders, after which she claimed a strange incident began happening at her store.
Recounting the experience, she said:
“Online is not spiritual, kee? They are not ready for you yet. I did a sale one time and packed over 6,000 orders and posted it online. For a good seven days, sn@ke used to come to my store. Even giving testimony in church, I won’t recommend it too.”
The lady also recounted a difficult period after her mother publicly celebrated her admission and other positive developments during a church service.
She explained that the family had recently moved into a new site that was still empty and had no ceiling when her mother took the microphone to share the testimony.
“My mom took the mic, started singing and all. I hope you know how those our mothers do? ‘My daughter has just gained admission,’ started saying all the good things that had happened in our life.
Jesus… we really s&uffered that year. Not only social media is spiritual, even church too,” she added.
The lady revealed that she eventually dropped out of school because her family could no longer afford the fees. She also recalled plans to relocate her to Libya, with a hijab even sewn for her.
Her experience has prompted discussions online about whether people should be more private about their achievements and personal milestones.
