As part of efforts to strengthen judicial capacity and fulfil its mandate, the National Judicial Institute (NJI), led by its Administrator Justice Babatunde Adejumo, paid a courtesy visit to First Bank of Nigeria in Lagos to deepen stakeholder engagement.
The meeting focused on advancing judicial education, with First Bank pledging support under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) framework. The collaboration aims to enhance continuing judicial training, promote ethical standards, and modernize capacity‑building for judicial officers across Nigeria.
Justice Adejumo highlighted the Institute’s interest in partnering with the Bank on projects such as the provision of educational and healthcare facilities, as well as installation of Automated Teller Machines within the NJI premises to improve access and convenience for judicial officers.
First Bank, widely recognized for its CSR initiatives across five pillars—Environmental Sustainability, Economic Empowerment, Health, Education, Arts & Culture, and Heritage—reaffirmed its commitment to supporting judicial development.
In his remarks, Mr. Olusegun Alebiosu, CEO of First Bank, expressed readiness to collaborate with NJI, noting that the partnership aligns with the Bank’s Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability Goals and will contribute to the advancement of judicial education in Nigeria.
