The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has released the dates and provisional venues for its Passport Intervention Team’s exercise in four cities across the United Kingdom.
The exercise is aimed at helping Nigerians in the UK obtain new passports, renew existing ones and resolve pending passport applications.
In a public announcement dated August 31, 2026, and signed by the Service’s Public Relations Officer, DCI Akinsola Akinlabi, the NIS said the schedule followed consultations with the High Commission of Nigeria in the UK and representatives of Nigerian communities.
According to the schedule, the exercise will hold in London and Manchester from September 7 to 19.
In London, enrolment will take place at Layali Lounge, Trent Park, Bramley Road, while the Manchester exercise will be held at Nigerian House, 23 Platt Lane.
The exercise will move to Aberdeen and Cardiff from September 21 to 26.
The venue in Aberdeen is the Hilton Convention Centre on Smithfield Road, while the Cardiff exercise will take place at Sophia Gardens, Sophia Walk.
The NIS urged eligible Nigerians in the four cities and surrounding areas to take advantage of the exercise.
Applicants are required to apply and make payment through the NIS Passport Application portal before visiting their selected venue.
They are also expected to present a completed application form, payment slips as proof of payment, an appointment slip and a self-addressed return envelope.
Applicants renewing their passports must also present their current passports.
The Service warned that applicants who arrive with cash will not be attended to and urged participants to cooperate with officials to ensure a smooth and orderly exercise.
The NIS also said its digital passport application channels, including the Contactless Passport Application System, remain operational alongside the UK intervention exercise.
It added that its home delivery service would also continue to be available to applicants.
“The Nigeria Immigration Service remains committed to efficient, transparent and responsive passport Service Delivery to Nigerians at home and in the diaspora,” the statement said.
The development follows an earlier announcement of plans to deploy a dedicated Passport Intervention Team to the UK to clear pending applications and facilitate new passport enrolment and renewals.
The intervention was ordered by the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, and directed by the Comptroller-General of Immigration, Kemi Nanna Nandap.
The NIS had previously advised applicants not to proceed to any location until the official schedule of cities, dates and venues was released.
