Sunbeth Global Concepts Ltd., a Lagos-based agro-commodities trader, secured an ‘A’ credit rating from Nigerian ratings agency DataPro after years of rapid expansion and a solid financial track record.
The assessment, which reviewed Sunbeth’s performance since 2020, cited the company’s revenue growth, sound financial management, and experienced leadership. Sunbeth trades cocoa beans and cashew nuts in both export and domestic markets and has shipped more than 200,000 metric tonnes of cocoa since inception.
“This ‘A’ rating validates our governance and resilience,” said Olasunkanmi Owoyemi, managing director and chief executive officer. “It confirms our ability to deliver a low-risk, high-return investment proposition for partners.”
The company said its supply chain is supported by more than 250 local agents and regional merchants across Nigeria. It also leverages affiliates including SFI Agri Commodities and Sunbeth Shipping and Logistics to strengthen deliveries and market reach.
Nzubechukwu Anisiobi, chief development officer, said the recognition underscores Sunbeth’s environmental, social and governance (ESG)-aligned strategy. “Our growth reflects our dedication to empowering farmers and driving socio-economic impact,” he said.
Founded in 2017, Sunbeth has become one of Nigeria’s most prominent private cocoa exporters. The DataPro rating is expected to boost its credibility with investors and lenders as the company seeks to scale operations and expand across global markets.
