Nigeria’s economy’ ll grow if we produce what we consume – Katsina ADC Chieftain

By Zubairu Idris

A stalwart of African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Katsina State, Alhaji Ibrahim Aminu-Trader, says Nigeria’s economy will grow if the business sector is empowered to produce what the citizens consume.

Aminu-Trader stated this on Thursday in Katsina in an interview with newsmen.

“It is when our businessmen produce what we consume and consume what we produce locally that the economy will grow, and we can move forward,” he said.

The ADC chieftain, therefore, stressed the need for government to intensify efforts in empowering businessmen to enable them achieve that objective.

On his assessment of the current administration in the state, Aminu-Trader said that it had tried based on its own capacity.

He, however, added that there were lapses, particularly in the areas of security, skills acquisition, health and education, among others.

“If the electorate give us their mandate during the election, our administration will be a people-oriented one,” he assured.

Aminu-Trader stated that ADC supporters had been ‘rushing’ to do membership registration.

According to him, the party has so far registered no fewer than one million members, adding that it will continue with the registration until all prospective members are registered.

He also urged the people of the state to obtain their permanent voter cards (PVCs) so as to be able to exercise their franchise during the 2027 general elections.(NAN) (www.nannews.ng)
