Controversial Islamic cleric, Sheikh Ahmad Gumi has alleged that the Nigerian government knows every terrorists operating across the nation by name.
Gumi also alleged that both the government and key leaders of various security agencies know these terrorists’ locations.
Speaking in a recent video interview, the cleric, who is known for being on the frontline of negotiations with the dreaded terrorists and bandits said he does not embark on any mission without officers of the Nigeria Police Force or other security agencies.
His words, “The government knows every terrorist by name and by location. I don’t go alone, I don’t go to the terrorists alone. I call the police, I call the security, everybody.”
In addition, Gumi also claimed traditional leaders and women from communities where these terrorists operate are usually part of his negotiation team.
“I will go to the Emirs of that place. In fact, when we went to one terrorist camp, we went with even women into the bush,” Gumi added.
The claim by the cleric comes barely months after the Zamfara State governor Dauda Lawal said he has knowledge of who the bandits are and their locations.
In November 2025, Lawal also said that he has the capacity to wipe out bandits operating in his state within the space of two months.
The governor, however, stated that he was limited in the measures he could take against the bandits because security officers in Zamfara state take orders only from Abuja.
“I swear to Almighty Allah, wherever a bandit leader is in Zamfara State, I know it. If he goes out, I know.
“With my phone, I can show you where they are today. But we cannot do anything beyond our powers,” Lawal said.
