Umaru Kwairanga, chairman of the Nigerian Exchange Group (NGX Group), has praised BUA Group’s leadership, emphasizing that the company’s success stems from its people, not merely its resources.
Kwairanga made the remarks at the BUA Group Long Service Awards and Night of Excellence, an event honouring employees with decades of dedicated service.
On Sunday, BUA Group announced that it had disbursed N30 billion to 510 employees during its 2025 Night of Excellence and Long Service Awards.
In a statement following the event, the NGX chairman described the ceremony as “a powerful reminder that enduring institutions are built by individuals whose daily commitment, often unseen, steadily shapes corporate identity and long-term success.”
Kwairanga also commended Abdul Samad Rabiu, BUA Group’s chairman, calling him “a visionary leader whose passion for industrial development has driven economic empowerment and national progress.”
He added that Rabiu provides the vision and strategic leadership, while the collective effort of staff at all levels executes that vision, transforming BUA Group into “a multi-trillion-naira conglomerate.”
“In a world that is constantly changing, where loyalties shift and priorities evolve, the dedication of the individuals we honour is nothing short of extraordinary,” Kwairanga said.
“Your years of service are not mere numbers. They represent seasons of growth, moments of challenge, sacrifices made, and victories earned.
“You are living proof that great institutions are built day by day, decision by decision, and person by person.
“To the leadership of BUA Group, I commend you. This culture of honouring your people is not only commendable, it is strategic.”
Kwairanga encouraged the award winners to view the recognition as motivation to contribute further to both BUA Group and Nigeria, while reaffirming NGX’s commitment to supporting the company’s growth.
