The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, Bauchi State Command has secured the conviction of three drug traffickers arrested with 209 kilograms of Cannabis Sativa in Toro Local Government Area.
The State Commander, CN Hassan Yaqub, confirmed the conviction on Thursday, describing it as part of the Command’s renewed commitment to rid Bauchi State of illicit drug activities.
The convicts: Gods Power Appeal, 50; Ernest Ukpong, 55; and God Day Chukwudi, 38, were arrested on 26 November 2025 at Fanshanu Village along the Bauchi–Jos Road with 322 blocks of Cannabis sativa weighing a total of 209kg.
Following their prosecution, the court convicted the three men, further strengthening the Command’s record in drug-related convictions.
CN Yaqub, who has earned the nickname “Mr. No Release” among residents for his zero-tolerance approach to drug crime, said the conviction sends a clear message to dealers and traffickers operating in the state.
“There is no safe haven for drug dealers in Bauchi State. We will continue to arrest, investigate, and prosecute anyone involved in the illicit drug trade without compromise,” he said.
The Commander noted that the latest conviction represents another significant achievement in the Command’s ongoing efforts to dismantle drug networks and protect communities from the devastating effects of drug trafficking and abuse.
He urged members of the public to continue providing credible information to the Agency to help in the fight against drug abuse and trafficking across the state.
The NDLEA reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining the onslaught against drug offenders and ensuring that Bauchi State remains hostile to drug trafficking activities.
