The President of the National Industrial Court of Nigeria, Hon. Justice Benedict Kanyip, PhD, OFR, has formally announced the Court’s Easter vacation for the year 2026.
According to the official notice, the vacation will run from Monday, 30 March 2026 to Friday, 10 April 2026, during which there will be no sittings across all divisions of the Court. This pause in judicial activities will affect ongoing proceedings and scheduled matters until the vacation concludes.
Justice Kanyip made the declaration pursuant to Order 58 Rule 4(1)(c) of the National Industrial Court (Civil Procedure) Rules 2017, which empowers the Court’s President to fix vacation periods. Normal sittings are scheduled to resume on Monday, 13 April 2026, when pending matters and new filings will be taken up.
The Easter vacation is part of routine judicial breaks observed nationwide, designed to provide rest for judicial officers and staff while maintaining a structured and predictable court calendar. The announcement underscores the Court’s commitment to procedural discipline and effective case management in Nigeria’s labour and industrial relations adjudication system.
