The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has commended the Provost of Osun State College of Health Technology (OSCO-HEALTH), Ilesa, Dr. Lateef Olarewaju Raheem, for infrastructural development and his commitment to students’ welfare and development.
The commendation followed an inspection visit by a NANS delegation to the institution on Wednesday, October 7, 2026.
The delegation, led by the association’s National Financial Secretary, Comrade Alao John Oluwadamilola, and Zonal Coordinator, Comrade Adeyemo Josiah Kayode, inspected facilities and ongoing projects across the campus.
Speaking to journalists after the visit, Alao said the delegation was impressed by the level of development recorded in key areas of the institution.
He listed the ICT Centre, Medical Imaging Laboratory, X-Ray Imaging Laboratory, Dispensing Opticianry Laboratory and Dental Clinic as facilities essential to improving students’ practical training.
The delegation also inspected the renovated college auditorium and library, which now houses more than 60,000 books and other learning resources.

Alao said the developments were consistent with documented improvements recorded under Raheem’s administration.
Raheem was appointed in February 2023 as the first substantive Provost of OSCO-HEALTH. Developments recorded during his tenure include library renovation, improved ICT infrastructure, procurement of computers, establishment of medical imaging and opticianry facilities, accreditation of academic programmes and other infrastructural interventions.
Alao said: “As students and representatives of the Nigerian student community, we have a responsibility not only to speak when things are wrong but also to commend genuine efforts and developments that directly improve the learning environment of students. What we have seen here today deserves recognition.”
He urged the college management to sustain the progress by expanding access to modern equipment, improving student welfare, strengthening accreditation efforts and upgrading learning facilities.
He added that the true measure of institutional development should be reflected in the quality of education, practical training, welfare and opportunities available to students.
The delegation also appreciated the Provost for the reception and hospitality extended to its members.
During the visit, Alao requested a bus for the Students’ Union to support its activities. Raheem received the request and promised to provide one.
