Some beneficiaries of the Federal Government’s ₦50,000 National Emergency Relief and Stabilisation Intervention (NERSI) have complained about difficulties accessing payments through NairaGram.
Users report frustration with the NairaGram application and its Unstructured Supplementary Service Data (USSD) code, *726*00#, used to access their wallets.
The complaints come as Nigerians try to accept and withdraw the relief. However, the difficulties do not mean beneficiaries have lost their money. The Federal Government’s NERSI portal lists NairaGram as an approved payment provider and offers guidance for users experiencing problems.
The portal advises beneficiaries to check their network signal and retry the code. If the problem continues, they should contact NairaGram. It does not confirm that a backend upgrade is responsible.
What to do
Beneficiaries should check their network connection and retry *726*00#. If it still fails, contact NairaGram on 0201 330 0880 or 0201 330 0881. They can also call the NERSI helpline on 0700-022-2222. Never share a personal identification number (PIN) or one-time password (OTP), or pay anyone to release the grant.
