Naira abuse: Cubana Chief Priest calls for prayers as EFCC gets set to arraign him

Nigerian club owner and businessman, Pascal Okechukwu popularly known as Cubana Chief Priest, has reacted to his planned arraignment by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, (EFCC) over alleged abuse of the naira.

It was revealed that the EFCC filed a three-count charge against Chief Priest for allegedly spraying and tampering with the naira at a social event contrary to the provisions of the Central Bank Act of 2007.

The socialite is expected to be arraigned today, Wednesday, 17th of April 2024, before Justice Kehinde Ogundare of the Federal High Court in Lagos state.

According to Channels TV, the charge against Chief Priest was filed on April 4th by EFCC’s prosecutor Rotimi Oyedepo (SAN) alongside seven other lawyers representing the chairman of the Commission.

One of the charge sheet reads; “That you, Okechukwu Pascal on 13th Feb. 2024, at Eko Hotel, within the jurisdiction of the court, while dancing during a social event, tampered with funds in the denomination of N500 (Five Hundred Naira) issued by the Central Bank of Nigeria by spraying same for two hours, and you thereby committed an offence, contrary to and punishable under Section 21(1) of the Central Bank Act 2007”

Taking to his Instagram story on Tuesday night, Cubana Chief Priest urged fans, colleagues and supporters to pray for him as he heads to court

The 43-year-old celebrity barman as he is fondly called, shared an unbothered photo of himself alongside a hand-prayer emoji.
