The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has reinforced its commitment to enhancing joint military operations and interoperability with the Nigerian Army through the inauguration of Special Forces Course 14/2026 for Nigerian Army personnel at the Regiment Training Centre Annex (RTCA), Bauchi.
The inauguration, held on 5 August 2026, reflects the enduring partnership between both Services in developing a highly skilled, mission-ready force capable of addressing Nigeria’s evolving security challenges through integrated operations.
The initiative is in line with the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal SK Aneke’s, vision of deepening inter-Service collaboration by opening NAF’s specialised training institutions to personnel of sister Services.
Representing the Air Officer Commanding Ground Training Command, Air Vice Marshal AG Kehinde, the Chief of Staff, Special Operations Command, Air Vice Marshal SS Lazarus, stated that the course demonstrates the Armed Forces of Nigeria’s commitment to jointness, interoperability and unity of effort in confronting contemporary security threats.
He commended the Nigerian Army for its confidence in the NAF and described RTCA Bauchi as a centre of excellence for Special Forces training.
Earlier, the Commandant of RTCA Bauchi, Squadron Leader Edeama Lawrence Akpan, disclosed that participants would undergo rigorous training in physical conditioning, combat marksmanship, close quarters battle, combat survival, special reconnaissance, air assault techniques, amphibious operations, mission planning and the execution of special operations.
He expressed appreciation to the Nigerian Army for its sustained confidence in the NAF, noting that the course would further strengthen inter-Service cooperation while enhancing the operational readiness and joint warfighting capability of the Armed Forces of Nigeria.
