The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has airlifted students of NAF schools from different parts of the country to their respective schools ahead of the commencement of the 2026/2027 academic session.
The students were transported aboard a NAF ATR 42 aircraft under a coordinated airlift initiative designed to ensure their safe, timely and seamless return to school.
The initiative provided vital support to children of NAF personnel deployed across various operational theatres nationwide.
According to the NAF, the initiative is in furtherance of the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke’s, “Welfare for Warfare” objective, which recognises the welfare and wellbeing of personnel and their families as important enablers of operational effectiveness.
By easing the challenges associated with the movement of their children, particularly for personnel serving away from their families due to operational commitments, the initiative provides greater peace of mind and enables personnel to remain focused on their duties, the Service said.
It added that beyond the airlift, the initiative reflects NAF’s broader commitment to supporting the families of its personnel and strengthening the conditions that enable them to serve effectively.
“It underscores the Service’s belief that caring for the families of those on the frontline is an integral part of sustaining morale, commitment and operational readiness, reinforcing the principle that welfare and warfare are mutually reinforcing pillars of mission success,” the statement said.
