NACCIMA Unveils $150m Offshore Facility to Fuel Nigerian Business Expansion with Single-Digit Financing

The Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA) has launched a significant financial initiative, opening applications for a $150 million offshore expansion facility. This programme is designed to provide Nigerian businesses with long-term, single-digit interest rate financing, crucial for expansion and modernisation efforts. Eligible companies can now submit applications via a dedicated digital portal, unveiled during the Infrastructure Conference 2026 at the Afrexim Tower in Abuja.

This strategic financing initiative, developed in partnership with the Germany-based commercial banking group ODDO BHF SE, aims to enhance access to foreign capital for Nigerian enterprises and bolster the nation’s organised private sector. The collaboration signifies a concerted effort to bridge the funding gap for businesses seeking to scale operations and adopt advanced technologies.

The operational framework and application portal were jointly introduced by Waheed Olagunju, Chairman of the Joint NACCIMA-ODDO BHF Working Group Committee and former Managing Director of the Bank of Industry, and Segun Olugbile, NACCIMA’s Digital Economy Coordinator. This platform represents a pivotal advancement in digitising the origination of foreign direct investment for Nigerian businesses.

The facility will offer qualified Nigerian companies access to patient, long-term expansion capital at competitive single-digit interest rates. Priority sectors for funding include manufacturing (excluding defence), agro-allied processing, energy, logistics, mineral beneficiation, and transportation. Notably, 20% of the total facility is earmarked for the digital economy and information and communication technology sector.

Waheed Olagunju highlighted the initiative’s objective: to cultivate a transparent investment pipeline capable of attracting international investors while simultaneously supporting the growth of viable Nigerian companies. He stated, “What we are launching today is a transparent, globally aligned investment origination pipeline as a demonstration of investors’ confidence in Nigeria’s economy.”

The Joint NACCIMA-ODDO Committee has established a rigorous framework enabling viable, ESG-compliant Nigerian businesses to access capital, with a minimum financing package of $10 million. This funding is intended for the acquisition of European machinery, equipment, and technology essential for scaling operations. Successful applicants will benefit from a repayment tenure of at least seven and a half years. Beneficiaries will be required to allocate between 35% and 50% of the financing towards procuring eligible goods and services from Europe, with the remainder deployable within Nigeria or other approved markets.

Eligibility criteria stipulate that companies must be financially viable with a proven repayment capacity. Applicants are mandated to submit at least three years of audited financial statements, demonstrate adherence to environmental, social, and governance (ESG) standards, and be verified financial members of recognised organised private sector associations, including NACCIMA, MAN, NASME, or NASSI. The digital application platform features bank-grade encryption and automated Know-Your-Customer verification processes to safeguard applicants’ sensitive financial information.

This initiative underscores NACCIMA’s commitment to establishing credible international financing channels, thereby enhancing private sector competitiveness and driving sustainable industrial transformation across Nigeria.
