The Magnificent Leadership Conference, a U.S.-founded leadership development series, will make its West African debut in Abuja on Nov. 21 with a message for executives grappling with political volatility and accelerating automation: go big or get left behind.
The event, curated by Maria Asuelimen, managing director of AMA Consulting LLC and Zen-AMA Global Springs Development Services, aims to position Abuja as a regional hub for leadership thinking.
Asuelimen said bringing the platform to West Africa is “a homecoming of purpose,” adding that the region “is ready to go big” as it seeks to shape the next generation of government and industry leaders.
The conference will run across three tracks — leading yourself, leading people, and leading organisations — blending workshops, keynote sessions, fireside chats and networking aimed at policymakers, corporate executives and non-profit leaders.
John Riordan will deliver a keynote on the “Power of Perceptions,” while Sidney Sampson will speak on “Authentic Leadership Journeys,” covering collaboration, career reinvention and legacy.
Mojisola Odeku will lead a fireside session titled “Building an Army for Change,” and other speakers include Chioma Nebo on intentional leadership and Nicole Kellum on scaling capabilities through networks.
Asuelimen said the conference is designed to equip leaders navigating a fast-changing global economy. “Leadership is universal, but the heartbeat of transformation begins when we invest in people where potential is rising the fastest,” she said.
Organisers describe the Abuja edition as the start of a broader movement to build a pipeline of African leaders capable of managing economic shocks, organisational change and technological disruption. The event will be held at Fraser Suites Abuja.
