Minister Maigari Ahmadu hails Galaxy Backbone at digital transformation summit in Abuja

The Minister of State for Regional Development, Uba Maigari Ahmadu, on Wednesday, attended the Galaxy Backbone Limited Digital Transformation Summit held at Shettima Hall, Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre, Abuja.

The summit, themed “Powering Nigeria’s Digital Future,” convened key stakeholders to examine how digital infrastructure, innovation, and technology-driven services are reshaping organisations across Nigeria.

In his remarks, Minister Ahmadu commended Galaxy Backbone Limited for its outstanding contributions to Nigeria’s digital ecosystem, particularly in enabling seamless digital services across government institutions.

He praised the organisation’s commitment to excellence and innovation, describing its efforts as “pivotal to the nation’s ongoing digital transformation agenda.”

The Minister also extended best wishes to the Galaxy Backbone team, expressing optimism for “more years of success, selfless service, and tremendous achievements” as the agency continues to drive Nigeria’s digital future.

The event was chaired by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Dr. George Akume, who also serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors, Galaxy Backbone Limited. The keynote address was delivered by the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Mrs. Didi Esther Watson-Jack.

Other dignitaries present included the Honourable Minister of Water Resources, Engr. Prof. Joseph Terlumun Utsev; former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha; Special Advisers to the President; and other senior government officials.

The Chief Host was the Honourable Minister of Communications, Innovation & Digital Economy, Dr. Bosun Tijani, while the Host was Professor Ibrahim A. Adeyanju, Managing Director/CEO of Galaxy Backbone Limited.

The summit underscores the Federal Government’s renewed push to deepen digital infrastructure and leverage technology for efficient public service delivery.
