A fatal accident occurred on Thursday opposite the NASFAT junction along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, with many passengers feared dead.
A trending video online showed an 18-seater commercial bus travelling from Lagos trapped beneath a truck coming from Ibadan, which was reportedly attempting a U-turn near the NASFAT area.
The impact forced the bus to run underneath the truck, leaving several passengers trapped, while others were seen unconscious at the scene.
Eyewitnesses said emergency responders and residents were making frantic efforts to rescue victims as of the time of filing this report.
When contacted, the spokesperson for the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Ogun State, Afolabi Odunsi-Oyewole, confirmed that the command had been alerted to the crash but said a full report was still being awaited.
Rescue operations were ongoing as of press time.
