Lucky Udu calls out Rae Sremmurd, claims they sampled Sky B’s song (Video)

Famous content creator and media personality, Lucky Udu has accused American Hip Hop duo, Rae Sremmurd of copying Nigerian musician, Sky B’s song without permission.

He leveled the allegation in a video which is making the rounds on social media, as he revealed that he found a sample of Sky B’s song on YouTube which was done by the American rappers.

Lucky said he was editing the artiste’s video when he saw Rae Sremmurd’s music video but they did not give the Nigerian singer credit on their song ‘Leans Gone Cold’ which amassed over 300 million views on YouTube.

He said Sky B is broke and almost going homeless, so he urged Nigerians to rally behind the ‘Ma Bebe’ crooner as he seeks to get redress for the alleged exploitation.

The visual storyteller said he has gotten in touch with his lawyers to get advice on the legal approach to take on the matter and also requested that others provide legal counsel to help Sky B.

In the video, Lucky Udu shared a version of Rae performing their song and another part showed Sky B singing his own version. He said the song was so good that an artiste sampled it and made a hit.

It is interesting to note that the original song was recorded and released in 1998 by British pop singer, Dido and it is titled; ‘Thank You’.
