Like Reno Omokri, Bwala Reacts To Video Of Tinubu Saying ‘Don’t Re-Elect Me If I Can’t Guarantee Constant Electricity’
Daniel Bwala, who serves as Special Adviser to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Policy Communication, has addressed a resurfaced video where the president spoke about electricity and asked Nigerians not to re-elect him if he fails to ensure steady power supply.
Naijaonpoint Nigeria reports that Bwala spoke during an interview on Arise Television, where he reacted to questions about the video and the current state of the power sector under the present administration.
He said the issue should be judged based on the timeline of Tinubu’s ongoing first term, not future expectations.
He explained that steps have already been taken to improve the power sector, pointing to policy decisions and new laws introduced by the government.
According to him, these actions show that work is in progress, and it is still too early to measure the outcome of promises linked to a possible second term.
Bwala said that the president is still serving his first term and has not yet reached the stage where Nigerians will decide on re-election.
He said the focus for now should be on what has been done so far and what will be achieved before the end of the tenure.
He added that when the time comes, Nigerians will assess the results and decide whether the president has done enough to deserve another term in office.
According to him, “He hasn’t come for second term yet. And I have told you the progress. No, I have told you the progress we have made. First legislative framework, Secondly, recently he signed an order for reform in that power sector.”
Speaking further, he said, “What I’m telling you, and I think that you are changing or you want me to rephrase my answer to your question. I am saying you asked us to wait, and you played the tape and want me to react to the tape. And I’m saying we have not come to the second term when Nigerians will decide whether he has made that promise available for them to vote for him or not.
