The Kaduna State Police Command in its fight against violent crimes and banditry in the state has conducted a clearance operations. On 11th August, 2026, the Kaduna State Police Command received credible information from a kidnapped victim who escaped from captivity, as well as vital intelligence from members of the public.
The victim immediately reported to the Police and provided a detailed description of the house of one Ja’e Samalu, male, 65 years, of Dogon Pako Village, Ikara LGA, identified as the location where he was held captive.
Upon receipt of the information, the Divisional Police Officer, Ikara Division, swiftly mobilized a team of Police operatives in conjunction with members of the Vigilante Service to the location. During the operation, the team raided the house and arrested the following suspects:
1. Ja’e Samalu*, male, 65 years
2. Abdul-Aziz Musa*, alias “Kire”, male, 35 years
3. Jafar Isah*, male, 25 years
4. Yunusa Musa*, male, 22 years
5. Shu’aibu Musa*, male, 20 years
6. Rakiya Samalu*, female, 50 years, alleged to be the mother of the suspects and caretaker of the captive.
The suspects are currently in Police custody. Investigation is ongoing to ascertain their individual roles and to apprehend other members of the criminal network.
The Commissioner of Police, Kaduna State Command, Cp Muhammad Rabiu psc, mni commended the operatives and members of the public whose prompt information led to the success of the operation. He urged residents to remain vigilant and to report any suspicious persons, movements, or activities in their communities to the nearest Police formation.
The CP further warned residents to be wary of criminal elements who may use residential buildings as hideouts or holding facilities for kidnapped victims. He stressed that community vigilance and timely information sharing remain critical to preventing and dismantling kidnapping networks.
