The factional national leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) led by Tanimu Turaki held a strategic meeting with former President Goodluck Jonathan on Friday.
The meeting comes less than 48 hours after Jonathan revealed that he was consulting on the possibility of contesting the 2027 presidential election.
Jonathan made the remark on Thursday while addressing a group of Nigerians who visited his office in Abuja to urge him to join the 2027 presidential race.
During the interaction, the former president stressed that the decision to run for office required careful consideration and wide consultations.
“You are asking me to come and contest the next election. The presidential race is not a computer game. But I’ve heard you, and I’ll consult widely,” he said.
