‎The Chief of Defence Staff, General Olufemi Oluyede, has charged troops of Operation FANSAN YAMMA to crush bandits and other criminal elements operating in the North-West, declaring that Nigeria must be made safe at all costs.

‎Speaking during an operational visit to the Headquarters Theatre Command, Joint Task Force North-West, in Gusau, Zamfara State, the CDS said troops must intensify ongoing operations to end insecurity in the region.

‎The visit, according to the Director, Defence Information, Major General Samaila Uba, was to assess operational readiness, address challenges and boost troop morale.

‎Commending the troops for their resilience, courage and sacrifices, Oluyede urged them to remain disciplined, professional and relentless.

‎“The safety of our citizens rests on our shoulders. You must remain resolute and go after these criminals until they are eliminated. We must make Nigeria safe at all cost,” he said.

‎He also highlighted the importance of air support, noting that efforts were ongoing to improve operational capacity through additional platforms and better coordination.

‎During the visit, Oluyede paid a courtesy call on Zamfara State Governor, Dauda Lawal, whom he commended for supporting military operations.
