The Sokoto State Government has declared, Friday, July 24, 2026, a work-free day to enable civil servants of voting age who have not yet registered to participate in the ongoing voter registration exercise and obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs).
Governor Ahmed Aliyu has urged civil servants who have not registered to take advantage of the work-free day to register and obtain their PVCs, thereby enabling them to exercise their civic responsibility in the forthcoming general elections.
The Governor restated his administration’s commitment to ensuring that civil servants in the state are given every opportunity to participate in national assignments and exercise their civic rights.
Governor Aliyu also called on members of the public who are not civil servants, and who have not yet registered or have attained the stipulated age for voter registration, to take advantage of the two-week extension of the registration exercise to register and obtain their PVCs.
The two-week extension of the voter registration exercise ends on Sunday, July 26, 2026.
